Top 5 Best Guitar Wall Hangers
Almost all guitar players are exhibitionists to some degree. We like to be the center of attention and show off our guitar skills at every given opportunity. As a guitar and bass player myself, I also know that we love to show off our instruments too! I personally have 2 acoustic, 2 electric and 3 bass guitars that I like to play at any given time. I have found that using guitar wall hangers is not only a great way to store my guitars, but it turns them into some really cool décor.
It really can become a chore to constantly take out and put back your instruments into their cases, especially if you play a lot. You could invest in guitar floor stands, but depending on how many instruments you have, these can quickly take up valuable living or studio space. Using wall mounted guitar hangers is the perfect option for preserving space as well as allowing your guitars to be seen and admired as they should. Guitar wall mounts also make it much easier to pick up the instrument when inspiration strikes. Here are my choices for the top 5 best guitar wall hangers.

4 - Ingles SA-32 Wood Guitar Hanger
The Ingles SA-32 boasts that it is able to support over three times the weight of the average guitar and it even supports irregular shaped headstocks. This wooden based hanger has a stylish curved shape and looks great when mounting acoustic guitars. The cradle features a unique ribbed surface that keeps the instrument firmly in place. However, there is a word of caution regarding the coating material on the arms on the cradle. This particular material is corrosive to nitrocellulose lacquer finishes. Fewer and fewer guitars are actually produced with nitro finishes these days, but if you own one you will have to take extra precautions to prevent damage. Other than that, this is an awesome and strong guitar wall hanger that will serve the majority of musicians well. It also comes with mounting screws and anchors.

The inside cradle is coated with a cushioned insert that protects the finish on the neck and headstock. This guitar hanger is available in six different styles and finishes to match your décor. If you want to make a bold statement with your instruments, then Grip Studios Custom Guitar Grips are probably for you.

Guitar Support Considerations
Choosing to hang your guitars on the wall versus storing them in cases, or even using guitar floor stands or racks, is not something that should be taken lightly. I know I have invested a lot of money in my instruments and I don’t want to take any chances with them being damaged. There are a few factors you need to keep in mind when choosing a wall mounted guitar support system.
How to Hang Your Guitars
Is the wall strong enough to support the guitar or bass? Ideally, you will want to locate the studs in the wall and try to position your guitars accordingly. Studs will off much greater support than using anchors in drywall.
How heavy is your instrument? Some guitars tend to be a lot heavier than others. A Gibson Les Paul is quite a bit heavier than say, a Schecter C-1. Bass guitars can tend to be even heavier. The heavier the guitar, the more support it will require. Over time, the repeated weight of your guitar may tear out drywall, which is why you should position it on a stud if possible.
What material is the guitar holder made of? A good guitar wall hanger will be made out of solid materials such as steel, heavy duty rubber tubing and hardwoods. You can find cheap guitar wall hangers made of plastics and particle board, but don’t trust your investment to cheap materials!
The Last Note
If you are looking for a great Christmas or birthday gift idea for the guitarist in your life, then consider getting them a guitar wall hangar support system. Nothing makes a guitar player more proud than to be able to show off his instruments in style. Guitar wall hangers are a much better alternative to floor stands because they not only save tons of space, but they also eliminate a lot of stress on the instrument itself. They also keep my guitars perpetually ready for any impromptu jam sessions. Guitar wall mounts are definitely one of the nicer accessories to have!
